The long standing dream has and will most likely always be to own and run my own bookstore. Preferably in some old building, in a downtown area somewhere, with the possibility that me and the family live above the store, or at least have the capacity to do so should we chose to. Yea, that guy) was having one of those meaningful heart to heart talks with his daughter the other day. The kind of talk that shapes a young adolescence’s [...] I finally get it. The whole Mad Max leather-boy gay thing that permeates the movies. Not only do I get it, but I’m buying in. I bought the ass-less chaps. A nice leather pair, black, no cow elbows or joints, all high quality leather. Plus a leather banana hammock, and [...] We ordered some pizza from Pizza Hut over the Internet. God, I love technology. We order Pizza Hut every 8 months or so (this is roughly the time it takes for us to forget how bad our previous experience was. Oddly this is about the same amount of time it takes a [...] The Pope is here! He just rode into DC in his marvelous Pope-mobile and now he’s in the Basilica with all the pomp and circumstance that only a 1500 year old religion can bring. I feel sorry for the Pope. He’s an 80 year old man that has a very hard task [...] I love video games. What an awesomely wonderful geeky platform to live vicariously through. I started with pong and now I have a computer that can power a satellite, or perhaps launch a Russian ballistic missile. 5 years ago was the video game hay day, the pinnacle of an era that saw [...] Odd because I forget, or I tend to remember that one bad scene in a book, or that one story that didn’t quite grab me the way I had hoped. I’m sort of stupid that way, but then again, it makes this moment, the one I just experienced possible, so perhaps there’s a rhyme [...] Once there was a massive cable company called Time Warner that ran things so bad in Florida that it trounced its name. Time Warner was synonymous with bad service, rate hikes, and crappiness overall. Time Warner was so bad it took the only out left to it: it changed its name. Like [...] Charlton Heston is dead. His starring role as Moses is one of my first movie memories, and his roles in the many wonderful sci-fi movies he starred in will always hold a special place in my nerd-ish heart. Heston was a Republican too, showing just how much of a Hollywood visionary he really [...] I have not posted in a while because I got a head cold, one of those wonderful fever filled dosies that filled my body so full of snot I made creaky stretchy noises when I walked. Last night I cleared about a pound of goo out of my head. It just kept coming. [...] |
