There is a game out there right now that challenges you, Mr. and Mrs. Adult with questions any fifth grader should know. The game is quite adamant about the fifth grader thing, if you fail then your average 10-11 year old is smarter than you. Seeing this commercial I thought, wow, USA Today is using [...] I love Paste magazine. I have said it before, you will hear it again. Paste is about good music. Not top 40 music, though some of the stuff they like hits the top 40. Not indie-band-only-stuff full of unwashed hair and dented minivans with too many miles on them, though many [...] These are the 2 samples of headlines I came across yesterday that I thought were interesting; “Dow Jones tanks, dropping 300+ points!” and “Dow Jones has second worse drop all year.” Allow me to give some perspective. The Dow, having just reached a record high the week previous dropped less then 1% of its total. I learned this depressing piece of news while listening to the AM morning news show on my drive into work. Specifically I remember The Eagles Greatest Hits, that whole album is perfection, and ‘Toys in the Attic’ by Aerosmith. I had all these weird stress related symptoms, from headaches, high blood pressure, weird speech patterns, panic attacks, to a creeping sense that I was just being crushed. It sounded like a jet engine fell off an airliner and landed on my roof. This producer had recently been involved with a home make-over in the Tampa area. The show had collected a bunch of entries for poor and underprivileged homes that might benefit from a make-over.
