Not safe for work. Hell, I’m not sure this is safe period. If you take your blood in bucket sized doses, well, then this might just be for you. Date night with the wife! We trucked down to fun town (Ybor) to catch dinner and a show. Dinner was a disappointment. I ordered the grouper sandwich and the wife and I are fairly certain that it was whitefish. SO, a lot was riding on the movie. I wanted an [...] “A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints” is a dark gritty movie with an emotional heft that goes right between the old uprights. Despite starring Shia LeBeouf this is a hard to watch compelling and great movie, especially for all you kiddies out there that had less than stellar family relationships growing up. Ultimately, a [...] The dream sequence.. that tired plot device that has long been the tool of soap opera writers and their ilk. It ranks up there with the unknown twin, the wakened coma victim and the not so miraculous return from death. It has always bothered me to spend all that time watching something, getting [...] On our trip to the airport at the end of our North Carolina adventure we stopped for a brief moment in the little college town of Ashville hoping to find some local grub (which later become the NC bar-b-q tale told a few posts down). We found ourselves in a mixed college neighborhood with [...] Got a little bonus from work, so it was off to the used music store for another foray into the sometimes strange, occasionally weird and perhaps a bit mellow land that makes up my musical tastes. I am listening to Feist’s Let it Die. My second album from them, a band dubbed by [...] I’ve always been a Western fan, though I don’t think I ever read a Western novel and have only watched relatively few Western movies. I love what the West represents, the freedom, the expansiveness, the way nature almost over powers the senses. My brief time in Arizona has always left me wanting more. In an act that entwines faith and hope in equal measures I laid down $65 smackers to pre-order Red Dead Redemption. Sort of a early (late?) birthday gift virtue of the wife and my mom. I have watched the videos, read the commentary and bought into the hype. My desire for a [...] I was in the mood to experiment the other night and I like the results. I purchased ground beef (80/20, though in the future I’ll probably go 93/7 for a leaner burger) and ground pork. I also purchased some teriyaki marinade. I plopped the ground beef and pork into a bowl. [...] Well now, there’s a bit of controversy over the Kick Ass movie. Some people don’t like seeing a young girl murdering grown men while uttering the C-word. One of those people is famous movie reviewer, Roger Ebert. Let me first say that I now sing the praises of Roger Ebert. I [...] |
